Located at the foot of Mt. Fuji near Lake Kawaguchi, Casa Mia Kawaguchiko is a place where HOSHINA’s philosophy of living comes quietly to life. Established in 1987, it was conceived not as a conventional showroom, but as a space where furniture could be experienced in natural light, through the gentle flow of everyday time.
Set within a landscape reminiscent of the Italian countryside once familiar to the founder, Casa Mia was designed to be felt with all five senses. Architecture, interiors, and materials—many brought from Italy—are carefully composed to create an atmosphere of authenticity and calm, allowing living to be experienced rather than explained.
In 2025, Casa Mia Kawaguchiko was thoughtfully renovated to respond to contemporary lifestyles, while preserving the spirit and memories accumulated over decades. The site comprises five buildings nestled within expansive wooded grounds: a reimagined former showroom that now welcomes guests with gallery, lounge, terrace spaces, and exhibits introducing the craftsmanship behind our furniture, three model houses each exploring a different way of living, and the Life Design Institute.
Here, visitors are invited not simply to choose furniture, but to spend time—walking, resting, observing, and discovering how a home can gently support life as it changes. Away from the noise of the city, Casa Mia Kawaguchiko offers a place to slow down and reflect on what it means to live well—an ongoing exploration of richness that continues to evolve with time.

Nestled among the trees along a gently descending path from the entrance gate, the Satellite Building is the first space to welcome visitors to Casa Mia Kawaguchiko. Once a showroom, it was reimagined in 2025 as a place to gather and pause, featuring gallery and lounge spaces, exhibits introducing the craftsmanship behind our furniture, and a terrace that connects interior living with the surrounding nature.

Model House A envisions life for a family of three who enjoy cooking, gathering, and spending time outdoors. Freely composed spaces unfold with minimal walls, allowing light and movement to flow throughout. A generous L-shaped kitchen forms the heart of the home, where food brings people together, complemented by a clean white interior accented with contemporary art.

Inspired by traditional European square-plan houses, Model House B is organized around a central stair hall, with rooms arranged in a balanced composition. Original fittings and aged finishes are preserved, while the interior is updated in an Italian modern style. The renovation follows the theme of “Heritage” in collaboration with Molteni&C, whose furniture, wardrobes, and kitchens we have represented exclusively in Japan since 2010. Iconic pieces by Gio Ponti and other masters enrich its refined social spaces.

Model House C is a connected terrace house set on sloped terrain, designed to explore diverse ways of living within the same architecture. Split levels make the compact spaces feel open and fluid, while brick exteriors and terracotta floors add warmth and character. Each unit features a distinct interior style, revealing how furniture and styling shape life differently within shared form.

Casa Mia is located on a nearly 15,000 square-meter estate that retains the natural contours of its setting at the foot of the breathtaking Mt. Fuji. Visitors are free to explore the grounds and partake of the many delights of nature offered—caressing breezes, uplifting bird songs, and scenery that changes with the seasons. The moment you set foot here, you’ll forget the crowds and noise of the city and experience blissful relaxation.
